When Cayla asked me to be her wedding photographer after I had just done her sister’s wedding months prior, I was quick to accept and honored to have been asked. To make this wedding even more special, it was at Vanderwende Acres, a new barn venue in Seaford De which I had yet to see in person. I had seen some photos online, but could never have expected all the awesome aspects of this place. From a spacious and elegant bridal suite to a jaw dropping loft with gabled wooden roof from which the bride descends down a stairway to walk down the isle, this venue had it all. Having been in Texas for four years, I thought I would be saying goodbye to all the textures and characteristics of the barn venue. However, to my delight I arrived back to the eastern shore just in time for an influx of amazing barn wedding venues. Vanderwende is definitely one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of shooting in. Once a cow milking barn, they even kept the milking stalls so I knew I had to utilize these in portraits in some way. Cayla and Taylor were so sweet and tolerant of all my many ideas for places to photograph them. Of the over 700 images the couple received, I was finally able to select a handful to share for the purposes of this blog.
