A Rainy Yet Beautiful Delaware Wedding

Carri and Jake met in grade school and enjoy traveling to South beach, going to the gym, playing with their pups, fine dining and wine.

Carri and Jake share an umbrella and a kiss in the rain after the wedding ceremony.

Wedding rings placed in one of the white roses in the bridal bouquet.

The wedding and reception took place at Sunset Cove in Milford DE. Never doing a wedding here before, I drove slowly through a residential neighborhood before arriving at this lovely house perched on a hill next to a lake. Although the venue was nice enough from the outside, my assistant and I were not prepared to see such a beautiful space inside and around back or the property. Adorable tiki huts were set around the inviting pool which was enveloped in tropical plants and landscaping.

Jake sits outside Sunset Cove in one of the tikki huts that sits on the venue’s property.

Carri got ready in the large bridal suite in the home. She had plenty of help from her bridesmaids and support as she made the decision to wait an extra half hour until the ceremony with the hopes that the rain will come to a stop.

The ring bearer looks admiringly at the bride as her maid of honor buttons the back of her stunning wedding gown.

Babies breath flowers adorned Carri’s hair which went perfectly with her nude wedding gown.

The bride and her bridesmaids pose for one last group photo in their robes before getting dressed for the wedding ceremony.

The wedding ceremony starts and while it did rain lightly, fortunately heavy rain held off until immediately after. The trees and lake made for a perfect backdrop for Jake and Carri to say their vows.

A groomsman fixes the groom’s tie as they get ready before the start of the wedding ceremony in Milford Delaware.

Rain falls as the maid of honor and best man walk down the isle.

The wedding ceremony takes place outside despite light rain and the change of heavy rain to come. I think everyone would agree it was well worth it such a lovely and earthy backdrop.

Bride and groom celebrate as they leave the ceremony site and get ready to throw down with friends and family during the reception.

After the ceremony and formal portraits it was time to party!

The couple share their first dance with other couple’s on the dance floor.

The couple laugh in response to a comment during the best man’s toast.

The bride and groom used an engraved wooden plaque instead of a guest book so that it could be displayed in their home.

The couple takes time to enjoy each other as husband and wife after the ceremony.

The married couple cut the wedding cake.

It was a beautiful wedding and I was so honored to be a part of it and to document such an important day in this couple’s lives.
